Q18: Education
1008 responses to the questions on education funding were analysed by DfEEs consultation unit.
The green paper invited views on three aspects of education funding:
- How can we ensure that funding is properly matched to the separate the separate responsibilities of local authorities and schools?
- How can we ensure that the funds allocated by central Government for education are used for that purpose?
- How can we ensure a fair allocation of funding between authorities and between schools in authorities to reflect pupil needs?
Many responses from the education sector also commented on the green paper proposal to extend the formula moratorium. 96% of education responses and the f40 campaign disagreed with the proposal.
